An Update

The Wilsons had quite an eventful 2 weeks during Christmas!
It all started with this....the first tree going down!

The tree came down and took all the house wiring/box with it. There was quite the firework display outside that evening!

Four days later, a large limb from the tree next to the first, came down due to the ice. No damage to us but the neighbor's fence had seen better days!

Three days later, the boiler decided it didn't want to hold water anymore and gave up the ghost which means no heat for the old part of the house. It was really cold some of those mornings.

Three days later, the garage door opener died and had to be replaced.

That same day, I find myself going to Iowa, my great aunt being 99 years old decided she was giving up. I was able to speak with her that afternoon. The next morning she died, as well as my Durango's transmission! Fortunately for Aunt Velma, she went to be with her Lord.

Ken and the girls joined me in Iowa on Friday. The funeral was held on Saturday and we headed home to try to beat the storm.

Sunday brought the storm as well as out of state friends. That evening we decided to stay in for dinner. I went to the garage to get a bottled water, only to find.....smoke! Our van was on fire. Ken and a couple of guys were able to push the van out of the garage before the flames were too high. No one was hurt and the fire was put out. The van was sitting right next to our grill and propane tank and that never exploded! God certainly has protected us, spared us and our house!

During this time, the trees had to be removed. Well, that didn't go without a hitch either. One of the limbs came down on the house pretty good and part of the roof had to be reshingled.

Many things have happened. We have come to laugh and ask what is next. Through all of these trials, God has been so good to us and so faithful. God is good, no matter what.
